Teusday

I sleep in a peppermint room
Where they took me past the hour of the sane.
Every three hundred and sixty minutes they take my vitals,
Making sure I haven't died.

In the morning, our nurses bring in the sun
And it's time to make our beds.
We aren't pretty or attractive,
We're insane.
Or so they tell us.

We spend our days in the waterlilly room,
Filled with bright paints and posters of how we're supposed to be.
Where Uno cards are our best friends.
Where the "me"'s and "I"'s become "we"'s and "us".
Where we think as a unit, we learn as a whole.

We aren't sad, we're not allowed to be.
We learn to smile
And play Uno.
